One night in October 1934, on the banks of the Yudu River in Jiangxi, the Red Army made its most difficult choice: it crossed the river and took the first step of its Long March. Crossing the river was not merely a geographical crossing; it was a choice to face a desperate situation head-on, and a courageous act of responsibility in daring to set out. More than 90 years later, William N. Brown (Pan Weilian), an American professor at Xiamen University, and Peng Wanglong, a Belgian media professional, came here and asked the same question: When the other shore is still out of sight, why set out at all? The international communication documentary The Long March: A Road without End, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, airs its first episode today, Ninety Years, One River.
