Sichuan Provincial Water Resources Department has activated a Level-IV flood defense emergency response as of 17:00 on July 29, in accordance with the province's revised 2024 flood and drought disaster prevention plan.

A blue rainstorm warning was also issued at 15:30, forecasting heavy to torrential rainfall across parts of Guangyuan, Mianyang, Deyang, Chengdu, Meishan, Ya'an, Leshan, Aba, Liangshan, and Panzhihua through July 30. Local authorities are urged to fulfill their duties and strengthen flood prevention measures to ensure public safety.
