On June 18, Neijiang accomplished three major feats: officially signing an agreement with the Aksu Prefecture of Xinjiang to co-build the Dual Hometowns · Dao Lang IP Culture and Tourism Community; the grand opening of the 2026 Neijiang Daqian (Midsummer) Consumption Season; and the passionate performance of the “Tribute to Classics: Songs Through Time” star-studded concert.

Famous musician Dao Lang (born Luo Lin) was born in Zizhong County, Neijiang City, and later started to live in Xinjiang. During his creative explorations in Aksu Prefecture, he was deeply moved by the powerful and vigorous nature of folk arts like Dolan Muqam, leading him to adopt the stage name “Dao Lang.” From then on, Dao Lang embarked on a musical path that integrated the cultural genes of both Bashu and Xinjiang. His works possess both the melodious charm of Neijiang mountain songs and the fiery passion of Dolan Muqam. They combine the delicate affection of Bashu with the vastness of Xinjiang. The distinctive artistic appeal is a vivid reflection of the cultural integration, coexistence, and mutual reinforcement between the two regions.

On the morning of June 18, the profound cultural coupling was officially elevated to a level of institutional cooperation. Neijiang City and Aksu Prefecture signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Co-building the Dual Hometowns · Dao Lang IP Culture and Tourism Community, while Zizhong County and Awat County simultaneously signed a twinning agreement.

The agreement specifies that both parties will make fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation the main task. With the theme “Folk Songs Connect Two Cities, Strings Resonate between Bashu and Tianshan” and the Dao Lang IP as a bond, they aim to break down regional barriers, promote cultural integration, tourism connectivity, and industrial interaction. Together, they will build a culture and tourism community featuring “One IP, Two Experiences, and Dual-City Synergy”, striving to create a national-level culture-tourism integration demonstration project and a practical case for fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
Agreement-signing sets the direction, while consumption drives implementation. On the afternoon of June 18, the 2026 Neijiang Daqian (Midsummer) Consumption Season, themed “Colorful Midsummer · Travel and Shop in the Sweet City”, was officially launched. The consumption season integrates diverse sectors including commerce, trade, culture, tourism, sports, and cuisine, linking 27 key commercial complexes, 15 characteristic commercial streets, 30 A-level tourist attractions, and over 1,000 merchants across the city, with more than 90 featured activities planned.
Signing is the root and consumption is the leaves, while the “Tribute to Classics: Songs Through Time” star-studded concert held that evening is the most brilliant flower on the tree. The concert is both an artistic tribute to the classics of the Chinese music scene and carries the unique mission of showcasing Neijiang’s cultural heritage and adding luster to the “Dual Hometowns” cooperation.

The deeper value of the series of activities goes beyond culture and tourism promotion; it is a vivid practice of using culture as a bond and music as a medium to facilitate interaction, exchange, and integration among ethnic groups. With Dao Lang as the emotional bond, music as the bridge of communication, and consumption as the vehicle for implementation, these three elements are closely linked, deeply integrated, and mutually supportive. Together, they write a new chapter of the era, using cultural identity to unite ethnic sentiments and culture-tourism integration to promote common development. When the sweetness of Neijiang blends with the richness of Aksu, and the elegance of Bashu reflects the majesty of Tianshan, “Dual Hometowns” is no longer just a culture-tourism concept, but becomes a shared spiritual home for the people of both regions.
