On the morning of June 17, the 4th Meishan Satellite Application Industry Development Conference grandly convened in Meishan, Sichuan. The conference aims to propel the pragmatic and in-depth development of the satellite application industry, and to accelerate the construction of a full-chain ecosystem featuring “satellites in orbit, stations on the ground, and industrial chains for application.” It is dedicated to establishing Meishan as a nationally leading demonstration city for the satellite industry, thereby contributing greater strength to the vision of a powerful space nation and the high-quality development of Sichuan’s commercial space sector. This conference brought together top experts, scholars, representatives from international cooperation organizations, and industry giants in the field of commercial space in the hometown of Su Dongpo to discuss strategies for the high-quality development of the commercial space industry.

At the opening ceremony, guest representatives delivered successive speeches, highly praising the remarkable achievements Meishan has attained in satellite remote sensing, data application, and closed-loop industrial construction. They also expressed high expectations for how the city will empower local smart governance and future transformation toward the digital economy. During the exchange and matchmaking session, industry elites and experts from home and abroad engaged in productive dialogue. Zhou Xubin, Chairman of Shanghai SastSpace Technology Co., Ltd., and Azan Al Maamari, Commercial Director of Oman Lens, delivered keynote speeches focusing on “The Construction of a Public Pilot Service Base for Commercial Satellites” and “Win-Win Cooperation in Satellite Applications,” respectively. Li Deren, a recipient of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award and a professor at Wuhan University, delivered a keynote report titled “Integrating the Civil and Commercial Sectors, Advancing Aerospace Intelligence, and Building a Space Power.” In his report, Mr. Li provided a forward-looking analysis of the pathways for deep integration in the intelligent space era.

The conference witnessed a series of major announcements. The “Blue Book of the Development of China’s Remote Sensing Application Industry (2026)” has been released. Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics unveiled the world’s first high-precision carbon constellation, marking a significant breakthrough in space-based green and low-carbon monitoring. The Meishan Area of Sichuan’s Tianfu New Area released “two lists” detailing the demand for satellite application industry projects and scenario applications, fully unlocking opportunities for local industrial synergy. Focusing on the deep excavation of data elements and industrial expansion, Inspur Zhuoshu Big Data Industry Development Co., Ltd., and HiStarlink respectively introduced and promoted the “Xingxin” trusted data space product for the satellite industry and the “Meishan Data Port.” Additionally, Huantian Wisdom Technology Co., Ltd., made a significant launch of the Commercial Satellite Alliance’s “Hundred-Thousand Project.” This initiative not only revealed Meishan’s plan to launch 100 satellites in the future and the associated supply chain requirements but also announced the expansion of the Commercial Satellite Alliance constellation from 280 to 1,000 satellites, issuing a global call for ecological co-construction. Simultaneously, the Sichuan High-Resolution Center Meishan Branch was officially inaugurated, signifying the full integration of local applications for high-resolution Earth observation data.

On the day of the event, 4 high-level signing ceremonies were held on-site. As the chain master enterprise, Huantian Wisdom completed the signing of its Series B financing round, bringing in 11 top-tier capital institutions to inject financial momentum into its high-level development and upgrading. In terms of foreign-invested project signings, the Department of Land Administration and Management under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Laos, the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Cartography, Huantian Wisdom, South Surveying & Mapping, and more signed an agreement for the Laos International Joint Laboratory project. Meanwhile, Huantian Wisdom also reached in-depth project cooperation with Oman Lens, achieving remarkable results in cross-border expansion. Notably, Huantian Wisdom signed agreements with 13 key upstream and downstream backbone enterprises to expand the scale of the Commercial Satellite Alliance. Moreover, agreements were also signed for the Industrial-Grade Binder Jetting 3D Printing Smart Manufacturing Base project, the Meishan Tianfu Innovation Center project of the Research Institute of Aerospace Information Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, as well as multiple strategic cooperation and constellation co-construction projects. This profound collaboration among multiple parties marks a solid step forward for the substantial and in-depth development of Meishan’s satellite application industry.
