On June 21, 2025, the launch event for the Liangshan Yi Ethnic Torch Festival series and the "Colorful Liangshan · Summer Coolness" Cultural Tourism Season was held in Xichang City, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan. This cultural tourism season will run for 95 days, from June 21 to September 23, 2025, featuring activities such as Torch Month, the Lugu Lake Mountain and Sea Festival, and other distinctive cultural tourism and consumption events.

This extended cultural tourism season, lasting 95 days from the summer solstice (June 21) to the autumn equinox (September 23), includes Torch Month (July 11–August 18), the Lugu Lake Mountain and Sea Festival (September 16), and a series of summer-themed cultural tourism and consumption activities spanning the entire season and covering the entire region.

From the peaks of Luoji Mountain to the Jinsha River Gorge, Liangshan will host multiple themed events this season, including the July Torch Carnival, traditional ethnic festivals, the Yi Embroidery Journey series, premium artistic performances, Yi ethnic beauty pageants, and a barbecue food festival. Meanwhile, counties and cities across Liangshan will collaborate to launch activities such as folk celebrations, eco-wellness retreats, and cultural experiences, creating a new paradigm for all-for-one tourism.

As the "highlight" of the "Colorful Liangshan · Summer Coolness" season, this year's Torch Festival will take place from July 11 to August 18 under the theme "Passionate Torch Festival · Most Dazzling Ethnic Style." Centered around "Four Major Celebrations," the festival promises grander ceremonies, deeper experiences, and more engaging interactions, delivering a passionate, romantic, and culturally rich celebration for visitors from near and far. On July 18, the Xichang Torch Carnival Night will recreate the spectacular scene of "ten thousand people holding torches, singing and dancing together," with 14 ethnic groups presenting unique cultural performances to jointly celebrate the excitement and romance of the Torch Festival.

From September 14 to 16, the Lugu Lake Scenic Area will host the inaugural Lugu Lake Mountain and Sea Festival in Liangshan Prefecture. In addition to live performances, business forums, photography and art exhibitions, Daba blessings, and a thousand-person traditional dance (Chaget), four classic Mountain and Sea routes will be offered, allowing every visitor to join local residents in this immersive experience, soaking in the natural beauty and cultural charm of Lugu Lake.

Notably, this year's cultural tourism season will also feature the Yi Embroidery Journey, which will showcase the ancient heritage and cultural depth of Yi embroidery through a "Yi Embroidery Blooms Design Competition," a "Yi Embroidery Journey Fashion Show," and the launch of two "Yi Embroidery Journey" cultural tourism routes. These events aim to present the grandeur, mystery, and unique allure of Liangshan's Yi embroidery to the world.
