The 11th Council of the Chinese Society of Foreign Literature and the Academic Symposium on “Mutual Learning among Civilizations

9月20日—22日，由中国外国文学学会主办、电子科技大学外国语学院承办的中国外国文学学会第十一届理事会暨”文明互鉴与外国文学研究”学术研讨会在我校隆重举行。来自中国社会科学院外国文学研究所、北京大学、清华大学、南京大学、浙江大学、武汉大学、北京外国语大学、上海外国语大学等九十余所高校、科研机构的专家学者齐聚蓉城清水河畔，围绕”文明互鉴与外国文学研究”展开讨论。会议为进一步推动中国外国文学的发展提供了高质量的交流平台。

From September 20th to 22nd, the 11th Council of the Chinese Society of Foreign Literature and the Academic Symposium on “Mutual Learning among Civilizations and Foreign Literature Research”, hosted by the Chinese Society of Foreign Literature and organized by the School of Foreign Languages at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), was grandly held at the Qingshuihe Campus. Gathering at UESTC, experts and scholars from over 90 universities and scientific research institutions, including the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai Foreign Studies University, held heated discussions about Mutual Learning among Civilizations and Foreign Literature Research. The symposium provides a high-quality platform of exchanges for further advancing the development of foreign literature in China.

9月21日上午，会议开幕式在电子科技大学清水河校区自动化报告厅举行,由中国外国文学学会秘书长梁展主持。电子科技大学校长、党委副书记胡俊，中国社会科学院外国文学研究所所长程巍出席开幕式并致辞。

胡俊校长在致辞中对各位专家学者的到来表示热烈欢迎，并为参会嘉宾介绍了我校的发展历程、办学成果、优势特色等。胡校长结合建设教育强国的内在要求，强调了推进科学教育与人文教育相融合的重要性，并向与会嘉宾介绍了电子科技大学在科技与人文融合教育方面的理念与实践；进一步指出，电子科技大学对于哲学社会科学高度重视，学校正在稳步推进哲学社会科学的繁荣计划。胡校长表示学校将以本次会议为契机，加强相关领域的交流与合作，推进学术创新，为新时代中国外国语言文学学科的高质量发展贡献力量，并祝愿会议取得圆满成功。

On the morning of September 21st, held in the Lecture Hall of the School of Automation Engineering on the Qingshuihe Campus, the opening ceremony was presided over by Liang Zhan, Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Foreign Literature. Hu Jun, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of UESTC, and Cheng Wei, Director of the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

President Hu Jun warmly welcomed the arrival of experts and scholars, and introduced the development history, educational achievements, advantages and characteristics of UESTC to the guests. Hu emphasized the importance of promoting the integration of science education and liberal arts education in accordance with the inherent requirements of constructing a leading country in education, and introduced the concept and practice of UESTC in the integration of science and liberal arts education to the attending guests; furthermore, he pointed out that UESTC attaches great importance to philosophy and social sciences, and has been steadily promoting the prosperity plan of philosophy and social sciences. Hu stated that the university will take this symposium as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in related fields, promote academic innovation, and contribute to the high-quality development of the foreign language and literature discipline in China in the new era. He also wished the conference a complete success.

程巍所长在致辞中表示，本次会议的举办对于开启文学文化与科学文化之间的交流、弥合两种文化之间的鸿沟具有特殊而重要的意义。他指出，成都作为中国的”科幻之都”，于融合外国文学创作、文学研究、文化产业深入发展等方面具有广阔空间和极大潜力。程所长希望与会专家学者就”文明互鉴”之下的多元议题进行广泛研讨，展开深入交流，为推动中国外国文学研究的发展注入新思想、新理论和新动力。

Cheng Wei stated in his speech that the holding of this conference is of special and great significance for opening up exchanges between literary culture and scientific culture, and bridging the gap between these two. He pointed out that Chengdu, as the “capital of science fiction” in China, has vast space and great potential in integrating and deepening the development of foreign literature creation, research, and cultural industries. Cheng hoped that the experts and scholars would have extensive discussions and in-depth exchanges on diverse topics under the theme of “mutual learning among civilizations”, injecting new thoughts, theories, and driving forces into the development of foreign literature research in China.

主旨报告环节由学会秘书长梁展主持。主旨报告嘉宾们分别聚焦于自身研究领域，发表真知灼见，充分体现外国文学研究的前沿性。

浙江工商大学西方文学与文化研究院院长蒋承勇教授以”‘主义’的’旅行’与’变体’：从文明互鉴看话语体系建设”为题，深入阐发文明互鉴的意义和价值，论述在外国文学研究过程中对外来理论话语的选择性运用和创新性阐释的必要性。蒋教授以现实主义文学理论话语为例，对理论话语在中国语境中的旅行和变异现象作了极具启发性的考察。

The keynote speech section was chaired by Liang Zhan, Secretary General of the Society. The keynote speakers, focusing on their own research fields, expressed insightful opinions and fully reflected the forefront of foreign literature research.

Professor Jiang Chengyong, Dean of the Institute of Western Literature and Culture at Zhejiang Gongshang University, elaborated on the significance and value of cultural exchange through the topic of “The ‘Travel’ and ‘Variations’ of ‘Doctrine’: Exploring the Construction of Discourse System from the Perspective of Mutual Learning among Civilizations”. He discussed the necessity of selective application and innovative interpretation of the foreign theoretical discourse in the process of foreign literature research. Professor Jiang conducted a highly insightful examination of the travel and variation phenomena of the theoretical discourse in the Chinese context, using the discourse of realistic literary theory as an example.

南京大学外国文学研究所所长杨金才教授的报告题目是”关于文明互鉴与世界文学研究的几点思考”。杨教授以世界文学研究这一学术现象为楔，在文明互鉴的视域下对当下中国的外国文学研究的新方法和新路径进行阐释，并指出学者在批判性地引入和解读外国文学理论话语的同时，尤其需要注重中国传统语境和经验，彰显中国的”在场感”，以推进中外学术的平等对话。

Professor Yang Jincai, Director of the Institute of Foreign Literature at Nanjing University, made a report entitled “Reflections on Mutual Learning among Civilizations and World Literature Research”. Professor Yang leveraged the academic phenomenon of world literature research to explain the new methods and paths of foreign literature research in China from the perspective of mutual learning among civilizations. He pointed out that scholars need to pay special attention to the traditional Chinese context and experience while critically introducing and interpreting the theoretical discourse in foreign literary, highlighting China’s “sense of presence” to promote equal dialogues between Chinese and foreign academia.

浙江大学世界文学与比较文学研究所所长吴笛教授以”美国俄裔文学的发展动向与跨语际特质”为题，从美国俄裔文学的生成渊源、发展阶段及跨语际特质三个方面层层推进，揭示了美国俄裔作家们在不得已进行跨文化转变的同时，在创作中也反映了一定层面的俄罗斯语言文化要素和身份特性。吴教授深刻洞悉美国俄裔文学文本中呈现出的跨语际艺术特质，为当下美国俄裔文学研究视角提供了理论与历史的可行性洞见。

Professor Wu Di, Director of the Institute of World Literature and Comparative Literature at Zhejiang University, gave a presentation titled “The Development Trends and Cross linguistic Characteristics of Russian American Literature”. He advanced the topic from three aspects: the origin, development stages, and cross linguistic characteristics of Russian American literature, revealing that while American Russian writers had to undergo cross-cultural transformation, they also reflected certain aspects of Russian language and cultural elements and identity characteristics in their creations. Professor Wu has a profound understanding of the cross linguistic artistic characteristics presented in Russian American literary texts, providing theoretical and historical feasibility insights for current research perspectives on Russian American literature.

武汉大学文学院涂险峰教授作了题为”赛博空间的’笛卡尔妖’：对威廉·吉布森小说’矩阵三部曲’的哲学考察”的报告。涂教授以”矩阵三部曲”的赛博空间想象与笛卡尔认识论中”我思故我在”的灵肉二元的相关性为核心，逐一讨论了近代以来围绕笛卡尔哲学形成的一系列认识论争议，为当下流行的赛博格理论发展与实证研究提供了厚重的哲学视野。

Professor Tu Xianfeng from the School of Literature at Wuhan University gave a report titled “The Cartesian Demon of Cyberspace: A Philosophical Examination of William Gibson’s Matrix Trilogy”. Professor Tu focused on the correlation between the cyberspace imagination of the “Matrix Trilogy” and the dualism of “I think, therefore I am” in Descartes’ epistemology, and discussed a series of epistemological controversies surrounding Descartes’ philosophy in modern times, providing a profound philosophical perspective for the development and empirical research of popular cybernetic theory.

四川大学文学与新闻学院刘亚丁教授以”俄罗斯当代作家对中国传统文化的想象和挪用”为题，深入考察了俄罗斯作家对中国文化英雄的领悟、误读、曲解，详细阐述了俄罗斯文学中中国传统文化元素与俄罗斯本土文化的拼贴与糅杂，进而对于如何有效呈现当代俄罗斯文学中的中国形象进行了系统的分析。

Professor Liu Yading from the School of Literature and Journalism at Sichuan University conducted an in-depth examination of Russian writers’ understanding, misreading, and misinterpretation of Chinese cultural heroes under the topic of “Imagination and Misappropriation of Chinese Traditional Culture by Contemporary Russian Writers”. He elaborated on the collage and blending of traditional Chinese cultural elements and local Russian culture in Russian literature, and systematically analyzed how to effectively present the image of China in contemporary Russian literature.

中国社会科学院外国文学研究所徐德林研究员的发言题目为”‘文化—文明传统’再探——以F.R.利维斯为中心”。徐研究员聚焦于英国文化思想史上有关文化－文明传统之争的理论思考，并以F.R.利维斯为例展开论述，客观审视了英国文化精英主义人文实践，进而深入探讨了文学的本质何为、以及如何有效讲授外国文学等契合时代发展的重要问题。

Researcher Xu Delin at the Institute of Foreign Literature, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences made a speech entitled “Revisiting ‘Culture Civilization Tradition’ - Centered on F.R. Leavis”. Xu focuses on theoretical reflections on the cultural civilizational tradition debate in the history of British cultural thought. Taking F .R Leavis as an example, this speech objectively examines the humanistic practices of British cultural elitism, and further explores the essence of literature and how to effectively teach foreign literature, which are important issues that are in line with the development of the times.

北京大学外国语学院阿拉伯语系林丰民教授作了题为”阿拉伯文学的现代化与文明的互鉴”的报告。林教授详细梳理了阿拉伯文学的发展历程，介绍了阿拉伯近代文学是如何在保留自身文化特色的基础上、不断进行跨文化探索与创新的。他指出，在全球化背景下，阿拉伯社会在
