The 3rd Global Geographical Indications Products Expo Kicked off in China's City of Liquor

On September 20, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Global Geographical

Indications Products Expo was held in Luzhou City. The GIExpo lasted for three days, with the theme of "Strengthening Geographical Indication Protection and Promoting High-Quality Industrial Development". It set up 6 boutique pavilions, including the Guest of Honor Pavilion, the China-European Union Pavilion, the Liquor Tasting Pavilion, the Special Production Area Pavilion, the Comprehensive Pavilion, and the Themed County Gulin Pavilion. More than 900 companies from home and abroad participated in the exhibition, showcasing more than 3,200 special products.

This year's Guest of Honor was Spain. The Guest of Honor Pavilion focused on exhibiting iconic products such as olive oil, ham, cheese and wine, and held activities such as wine tasting, ham cutting, classic dish tasting, flamenco dance and Spanish guitar performances. In addition, guests from more than 20 countries and regions such as France and Madagascar attended the conference to discuss cooperation and jointly explore new paths for the trading, investment promotion and cultural exchanges of Chinese and foreign geographical indications products. The number of exhibitors and exhibited goods at this Expo reached a record high. Among the exhibitors, the proportion of enterprises creating GI products exceeded 60%, the highest proportion in all previous Expos.

This expo includes 11 major special events and 10 supporting events, focusing on GI products, organizing GI products from multiple industries such as wine, agriculture, and seasonings to participate in the exhibition, planning a series of activities such as the supply and demand matchmaking meeting of Chinese and foreign geographical indications products, the Luzhou tour of well-known entrepreneurs, the Luzhou Food Festival, the longan picking experience, and the GI performance stage, and jointly creating an online GI Products Expo with nearly a thousand companies to enrich the new online shopping experience.

Taking the signing of the China-EU Geographical Indication Protection and Cooperation Agreement as an opportunity, the Global Geographical Indications Products Expo has been successfully held twice in Luzhou City before. It is worth mentioning that at the opening ceremony of the day, the coordinated cooperation of cities in the development of geographical indications industries in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle was launched simultaneously, injecting new momentum into the development of geographical indications industries in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle area.
