The 9th China-Russia "Yangtze River-Volga River" Youth Forum opens in Russia

    (Fan Ruiling, He Zhuoyan/ Saratov,Russia)On August 23, the opening ceremony of the 9th China-Russia "Yangtze River-Volga River" Youth Forum was held in Saratov City, Saratov Oblast, Russia. More than 300 Chinese and Russian youth representatives from 6 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River, including Sichuan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan and Chongqing, as well as 14 federal subjects of the Federal District along the Volga River in Russia, participated.

    The cultural heritage of the Volga River "Saratov Karachaka Dance", traditional Chinese opera Flower Drum Opera, martial arts performed by young people from China and Russia... the wonderful programs at the opening ceremony dazzled the audience. Oleg Alexandrovich Mashkovtsev, Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, said that on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, young people from the two countries gathered together to understand each other. The country's history and latest achievements, as well as absorbing each other's excellent cultural traditions, have laid the foundation for friendship and mutual cooperation between China and Russia. The Governor of Saratov Oblast Roman Viktorovich Busargin said he hoped that young people from both sides would take this opportunity to strengthen communication and exchanges, deepen understanding and mutual trust, and sow the seeds of friendship.

    On the day of the opening ceremony, young people from China and Russia not only visited Victory Park in Saratov City, but also experienced a unique tea ceremony dinner - Sichuan youths dressed in Song Dynasty costumes explained and performed the Song Dynasty tea ordering skills and Sichuan tea bowl tea making.

    The method allowed the Russian youth present to experience the profoundness and unique charm of Chinese tea culture up close. Special snacks such as sesame cake, walnut cake, peach slices, and preserved fruits are also praised by everyone.

    The China-Russia "Yangtze River-Volga River" Youth Forum is a humanities supporting event under the framework of the China-Russia "Yangtze River-Volga River" local cooperation mechanism. It is hosted by China and Russia in turn. This forum lasts for 5 days and includes a series of sub-activities such as "Russia Day" and "China Day" theme activities, university study tour seminars, and graffiti.
