When you walk through the streets and alleys of Nanchong, Sichuan, China, you'll notice that gods "living" on the doors of every household. Due to diverse psychological demands and beliefs, the door gods worshiped by each household vary. These gods include martial door gods represented by generals Zhang Fei and Zhang Xian, literary door gods worshiped for passing examinations and achieving higher positions (studies and career),as well as door gods prayed for longevity, fertility, and wealth. All door gods “show their unique abilities”.
