面前是岷江、青衣江、大渡河三江汇流，背后是连绵起伏的凌云山，乐山大佛开凿于唐开元元年(713)，落成于贞元十九年(803)，历时90年完成。大佛通高71米，头顶上有1051个发髻，是世界现存最大的石刻弥勒佛坐像。

Sitting in front of the conjunction ofthe Minjiang River, Qingyi River, and DaduRiver, and with its back tothe undulating Lingyun Mountain,Leshan Giant Buddha was carved in 713 ADand finished in 803 AD. The Buddha sits as tall as 71 meters with 1,051 hair buns overhead. It's the world’s largest existing seated Maitreya.

Over the millennia, people have protected this Giant Buddha through different forms and techniques, allowing us to appreciate the creation of the Tang Dynasty. The grand Giant Buddha not only reflects thehistory, and culture, but also embodies the diligent, wise, and brave spiritual character of generations of the Bashu people.
