"The road to Shu is harder than to climb the sky." said Li Bai, the ancient Chinese poet. This is a straightforward description of the region’s geographical environment. However, no mountain is too high to conquer, and no path is impassable in life. The diligent and intelligent ancestors constructed a road from Bashu to north of Qinling Mountains along the mountains and valleys—ShuDao.

This significant transportation line has witnessed numerous major events, such as the annexation of the Ba and Shu states by the Qin state, the establishment of the Western Han Dynasty, and the various disputes during the Three Kingdoms period.

Despitemillenniaof changes, the ancient road has been well preserved, accompanied by the best-preserved ancient artificial cypress forest passageway. These stand as significant examples of the ancient ecological civilization construction in China.
