Both animation and science fiction are arts of imagination.”When science fiction and animation intersect, a fascinating chemical reaction naturally occurs, and this is the unique charm of science fiction animation.

提到经典的科幻动画，我们一定会想到日本动漫。例如宫崎骏的《天空之城》、《哈尔的移动城堡》，以及机甲类的代表作《新世纪福音战士》、《攻壳机动队》都是非常经典的作品。而对于美漫来说，几乎所有的题材都与科幻相关，很难找到一个不含科幻元素的题材。近年来，更有《爱，死亡和机器人》这样的神作问世。

When we think of classic science fiction animations, our minds often turn to Japanese works, including Hayao Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky and Howl’s Moving Castle, as well as iconic mecha animations like Neon Genesis Evangelionand Ghost in the Shell. In American animation, almost all themes have a science fiction element. In recent years, we’ve even seen outstanding productions such as Love, Death & Robots.

However, what comes to mind when you think of representative Chinese science fiction animations? You may think of the "Three-Body" animation, but it's hard to find another work that makes itself known outside of fixed circle. In recent years, Chinese animation masterpieces have appeared frequently, but there are still few original domestic IPs that can compete on the same level as Marvel or Studio Ghibli.

At the high-profile 81st World Science Fiction Convention, which took place from October 18th to 22nd, hundreds of globally renowned figures from the realms of science fiction in film, television, animation, publishing, and intellectual property gathered in Chengdu. Through exchanges and interactions, they aim at exploring the limitless possibilities of blending science fiction with animation.
