Four ‘Standbys’ Prepared for World Heritage List

在第45届世界遗产大会上,“普洱景迈山古茶林文化景观”申遗成功,中国世界遗产数量增至57项,其中,四川就拥有5项!
At the 45th Session of the World Heritage Committee, the “Cultural Landscape of Old Tea Forests of the Jingmai Mountain in Pu’er” was successfully in its bid to be selected for the World Heritage List. That brings the total number of World Heritage Sites in China to 57. Of these 57, 5 sites are found in Sichuan!
《世界遗产名录》,正是为了保护世界文化和自然遗产而生,包括世界文化遗产(包含文化景观)、世界自然遗产、世界文化与自然双重遗产三类。迄今全球已有1154项世界遗产,其中,中国拥有57 项,当中又有5项在四川,分别是黄龙风景名胜区、九寨沟风景名胜区、峨眉山—乐山大佛、青城山—都江堰、四川大熊猫栖息地。
The World Heritage List, created to protect world’s cultural and natural heritages, includes World Cultural Heritage, World Natural Heritage, and World Heritage - Mixed Property. So far, there are 1,154 world heritage sites worldwide; and among the 57 items that belong to China, an impressive 5 are located in Sichuan! Altogether, they are Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Mount Emei Scenic Area, including Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area, Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries - Wolong, Mt Siguniang and Jiajin Mountains.
