As one of the FISU Gamesdistricts, Shuangliu has 7 FISU GamesVenue centres and undertakes 5 sports of athletics, tennis, archery, badminton and water polo and 2 independent training sports of badminton and volleyball, which are the districts with the largest number of competition items, gold medals produced and expected participants.

On 13 July, the reporter went to the Chengdu Ancient Shu Brocade Research Institute to explore the story of the birth of the FISU Gamesmedal ribbons; went to the Chengdu Tianfu International Bio-town, Huanglongxi Ancient Town,Chengdu International Airport Business District, etc., to explore the road of Shuangliu's industrial development, feel the culture of Shuangliu.

On 8 March last year, the FISU Gamesmedal "Rongguang" was displayed for the first time. Along with "Rongguang", there is also a Shu brocade medal ribbon full of Chengdu elements. The FISU Gamesribbons are 105 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, the front side of which is made of a blue background, embroidered with Chengdu's characteristic hibiscus flower andsun and immortal birdspatterns on the silk surface.

One end of the medal ribbons connects the athletes' honour, while the other end holds the host's good wishes and the city's cultural heritage. Hu Guangjun, director of Chengdu Ancient Shu Brocade Research Institute, said, "The design work is not easy, we have repeatedly revised dozens of design drafts before determining the pattern of hibiscus flower andsun and immortal birds." Hu told reporters that behind the official production of the FISU Gamesribbons on the machine, is more than 70 procedures and half a year of investment. Up to now, more than 2,000 ribbons have been delivered.

In accordance with the principles of the FISU Games, the major venues in the Shuangliu area have low-carbon solutions. As the venue for the badminton and track and field events, Shuangliu Sports centre's low-carbon philosophy is perfectly reflected.

"The badminton centreis made up of 3 venues, namely the competition venue, the group preliminaries venueand the warm-up venue, all of which are designed and remodeled in accordance with the standards of the (International University Sports Federation." Yu Jian, from Organising Committee, introduced.

Different from the common venues, this badminton venuebuilding on the top floor distribution of a gray bag wind pipe, seemingly inconspicuous bag wind pipe is actually air conditioning outlet. "The cloth bag wind tube is distributed with multiple rows of small holes, can make the air distribution uniform and consistent, can also play a cooling effect." Yu explained, when used, the venuetemperature will be maintained at a constant temperature, and the air supply speed does not exceed 0.2 m / s standard, which not only reduces the air conditioning operating costs, but also provides a stable, comfortable venue for athletes. In addition, the lighting system in the venuehas a high specification anti-glare standard.

On the other side of the Shuangliu Sports centre, the low-carbon elements of the track and field venue are also very conspicuous. "To cope with the problem of insufficient space for athletes' clothing delivery vehicles to travel during the race, the track and field venue also innovatively used two-way driving electric vehicles, maximizing the savings of space in the arena and improving operational efficiency." Liu Yunjia, from Organising Committee, introduced.

"The roof of the venue has established a rainwater recycling system." Water Polo venue relevant person in charge said, the entire water polo venue building roof can maximize the use of natural rainwater, for greening water and artificial lake of the usual replenishment. And in this way, the maximization of the low-carbon, energy-saving and environmental protection effect of the venue has been achieved.
