行走太平·最是相遇的牵挂 Walk in Taiping Town, encountering my deepest longing

 

 

老屋门前的黄桷树

Ficus virenses in front of the old house,

黄桷树下的石板路

Stone roads beneath the ficus virenses,

石板路上掠过的影子

Shadows pass on the stone roads.

都有赤水河的回响

Everything is filled with echoes from the Chishui River.

那静静的老街 纪念碑

The old street and the monument,

像守望归程的长者

like an old man expecting his way home,

没有言语 却满眼深情

silent but full of love in his eyes.

这就是我走过太平

When I walk through Taiping Town,

脑海里那些挥之不去的画面

all of those images linger in my mind.

没有来太平之前

Before I came to Taiping Town,

我以为红军四渡赤水

I had thought that the Red Army crossed the Chishui River four times,

只在贵州

only in Guizhou Province.

来到太平之后

After I walked into Taiping Town,

我才知道

I did realize

当年红军四渡赤水的壮举

this feat was accomplished by the Red Army.

在四川 在古蔺 也在太平

Also in Taiping Town, Gulin county, as well as Sichuan Province,

和赤水河一起

together with the Chishui River.

绵延 流入血液

It spreads all the ways and flows into the blood,

就像陈列馆门前的红军像

which is like the Red army’s statues displayed at the gate of the museum here.

讲述的不只有过去

It signifies the past, the present and the future.

还有现在和将来

人们都说

It is said that

这里是得意之地

thisiswhereourpridelies.

在得意之地行走

When I walk through the land,

想到都是远方

my first thought is what happened in the past.

历史烽烟

Now, historical smoke

消散在悠长的船工号子声里

has disappeared in the long sound of boaters’ horns.

而我痴等的

But what I am waiting for is

只是一个未知的答案

only an unknown answer.

行走太平

Walking in Taiping Town

不只是与你相遇

is not just to meet you.
