#CallYourPanda Challenge Achieved Great Success, Celebrating the Chinese New Year With Pandas From Home And Abroad

    Recently, intending to promote panda culture, the #CallYourPanda Challenge kicking off on Twitter, Weibo and TikTok since January 24 had come to an end successfully on February 15. As a social media hashtag campaign proposed by Sichuan International Communication Center (SICC) and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the #CallYourPanda Challenge has received a total of over 60 million views and attracted over 30 mainstream media organizations and millions of panda lovers and fans to participate.

    When it was time to ring in the 2022 Chinese Lunar New Year, the #CallYourPanda challenge invited more than ten world-famous zoos with giant pandas to take part in the activity and collected videos of the panda breeders giving Chinese New Year blessings while holding their pandas. Several zoos, including Zoo Atlanta, Zoo Aquarium de Madrid, Beauval Zoo, and the Berlin Zoological Garden, accepted the challenge and posted intruiging videos of pandas on their social media accounts with hashtags #CallYourPanda, #PandaNewYear and #PandaDriftBottle. Meanwhile, social media accounts with a large volume of followers such as @Amazingsichuan (Visit Sichuan-China), @Discover Beijing, @TianmuMedia @shanghaidaily @Zhengguan News, @Huanqiu_com have also joined the topic.

    The #CallYourPanda challenge has received hundreds of videos about pandas worldwide to date and has been soaring in popularity among the Gen Zers online. Panda, the cultural ambassador of China and an envoy of friendship throughout the world, again built bridges between people and cultures via the #CallYourPanda challenge, which marks a significant leap in promoting Chinese culture and establishing a fine Sichuan image.
