Located in Pengxi County, Suining City, Gaofeng Mountain is a Taoist site which has been listed as an important heritage site under state protection.
It's not only a mountain, but also a Taoist Temple. The peak is shaped as a giant dragon with the temple built in Tang Dynasty (618-907) as its head. There’s a stockade ruin on the hillside in the shape of Eight Diagrams. There're 8 surrounded mountains, looking like 8 giant dragons looking back at the peak. The ancient cypresses cover the whole mountain, integrating the Gaofeng Mountain Temple.
Besides, there's a 36-meter-high stone statue of Laozi on the southwest side of the mountain. It's a landmark Taoist scenic spot of Gaofeng Mountain.
