You will definitely be impressed by the northern lapwings. With black upturned feathers on their heads, the metallic lustering dark green feathers on their backs and shoulders, they look elegant and confident, as if wearing phoenix coronets and embroidered coats.

The northern lapwings are small-sized water birds. They are quite similar to ducks. For example, both of them like swimming, living on the fields and wetlands, and both are good at catching fishes and shrimps.

The northern lapwings have a variety of recipes, including insects, weeds’ seeds, leaves, as well as some small-sized invertebrates and frogs like shrimps, snails, shells, earthworms, etc. What’s more, they eat locusts and other injurious insects. Therefore, they can help prevent the locust disasters.
