Douchuan Mountain is located in Wudu, Jiangyou city, about 180 kilometers away from Chengdu. According to the legend, it was originally called Chuan Mountain as it's shaped like a "Chuan" (a Chinese ancient rice basket). In Tang dynasty, a county magistrate named Dou Ziming withdrew from the society and live here in solitude and cultivated himself into an immortal. Therefore, people named the mountain after his surname and called it "Douchuan Mountain".

Douchuan Mountain is featured with Danxia landform. The great vertical climate variation brings diversified plants including arbors, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. It has a stable and balanced forestry ecosystem. Various animals and plants are distributed among the mountain.

Douchuan Mountain owns 90 percent of forest coverage, and the air contains 100000 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter. The average temperature is 21.7℃ in summer, making it a natural summer resort.
