Jin River: The "Green Ribbon" of Chengdu

Jin River, or Funan River consists of Fu River and Nan River, which are the two main rivers of Minjiang River system running through Chengdu. They are separated in Shidiyan in Pidu district of Chengdu, and meet in Hejiangting in the downtown, flowing eastwards into Minjiang River in Jiangkou Street in Pengshan district, Meishan City. Its drainage area accounts for the 14 percent of Chengdu, owning the 45 percent of the total population and 60 percent of the GDP and undertaking 80 percent of the total discharge capacity.
Water is a city's blood and the river network is the blood vessels. As the city develops, Jin River was once polluted. In 1993, the comprehensive management of Jin River was started and achieved great improvement. Today's Jin River area has become a green economy synthesis, lively and energetic.
