The fern can be found in the valley, beside the ponds and rocks, living in clusters. They look ordinary, but are one the oldest creatures on earth.

As the "living fossil", they coexisted with dinosaurs once, and witnessed the changes of the earth in hundreds and millions of years.

Why can they survive the nature evolution of so many years?

It's because of their modes of reproduction which is quite similar to the moss. They reproduce through spores. A fern can produce hundreds and millions of spores storing in the sporangium. When it's dry, the sporangium spilt and let off the spores which go with the wind and sprout in an appropriate place. Besides, they are strong and can live in clusters even on the rocks without nutrients and soil.
