You may be familiar with them but have no idea of their name. They are called Cirsium setosum, a kind of strong and ancient grass.

Cirsium setosum look beautiful. Their flowers are bright and the purple hemispherical ball-flowers look like the Rosa Hybrida. However, they are always remembered as “the thorned flowers” by people.

Cirsium setosum are strong and have good adaptability. They usually live on the fields, beside the roads, around the villages. To some extent, they do harm to the crops, especially wheat, cotton, soybean and other dry crops. With strong roots and good drug-tolerance, they are quite difficult to deal with.
