Tropical milkweeds are arbuscular perennial erect herbs. They can be 80 centimeters high and have white juice. They can bloom for almost the whole year, and fruit in August to December. They have umbel and the flowers are small and exquisite. The corollas are red and the paracorollas are golden with angular tubers looking like pockets. Their nectar is hidden amid the flowers. Tropical milkweeds are also the food for butterfly larvae, so they can invite butterflies.
Tropical milkweeds fruit after the blossom. Their fruits are wrapped in the seed pods. As the seed pots crack when they grow mature, the seeds spread with the wind. Where the seeds land in, the new plants grow.
