The Unique Veitch’s Peony

    Veitch peony is a kind of perennial herb that belongs to Ranunculaceae. They are usually about 30 to 80 centimeters high. They are originated in the high mountain regions in western China, and live in the forests of hillside at the elevation of 1800 to 2800 meters in eastern Tibet, and eastern Qinghai Province, etc., and the grass and wayside of 2550 to 3700 meters high in western Sichuan Province.

    There’re also red and white Veitch peonies which bloom in May and June and fruit in July. They can resist cold and drought, prefer light and side shading, and have lower rate of flower in shady places.
