    In ancient times, the sentence "The heavenly maids scatter blossoms" was often used by writers and artists as a theme to writepoems and paint. Every time it was mentioned, the picture was full of sense. In the botanical world, some flowers are so beautiful that they look like fairies, so people named them after "the heavenly maid", "Tiannv" in Chinese.

    In the category of Magnoliaceae, there are two kinds of rare and beautiful flowers which areunique to China, and one of them, Oyama wilsonii, is the topic today. In China, it is the "Tiannv Hua", meaning "the heavenly maid flower."

    As a unique species in China, Oyama wilsonii was discovered in Sichuan Province by a famous British botanist Henry Wilson, who is called "the man who opened the garden of western China". Then it was introduced into the British Botanical Garden for artificial cultivation and was named and published in 1913. Later, it was introduced and planted into Europe and North America as an ornamental plant, and its beauty is well-known in the world.
