"I travel halfway the world just to meet you", Chinese and Canadian couple fall in love in Sichuan

Chad和Leeann是一对来自成都的夫妻。Chad是加拿大温哥华人，热爱艺术和音乐的他在中国已经生活了快20年。因为一次与川派盆景的“邂逅”，Chad决定定居成都，实现自己成为“盆景大师”的梦想。

Chad and Leeann are a couple from Chengdu. Chad is from Vancouver, Canada. He loves art and music and has been living in China for nearly 20 years. After an encounter with Sichuan-style Penjing , Chad decided to live in Chengdu to realize his dream of becoming a Penjing master.

Chad的太太Leeann来自四川，是个标准的文艺青年，弹琴、唱歌、写作、摄影都有所涉猎。八年前，热爱音乐的两人在一次朋友的聚会中相识，因为共同的爱好，他们很快就相爱了。“见到她的第一眼，我就知道她将成为我的妻子。”爱说情话的Chad从不掩饰自己对Leeann的爱意，“在遇见她之前，我从来不知道幸福是什么。”

Chad's wife, Leeann, is an artist from Sichuan. She plays the piano, sings, as well as writes and takes photographs. Two music lovers met at a friend's party eight years ago and soon fell in love because of their common hobbies. "From the very first moment I saw her, I knew that she was going to be my wife." Chad never hides his love for Leeann, "I never knew what happiness was until I met her."

不同的文化背景带来的不是隔阂，更多是积极的影响。Leeann说：“我们之间就是一个相互学习的过程。”因为Chad对中国文化的兴趣，Leeann也加深了对中华传统文化的了解，“很多知识都是他告诉我的，比如盆景、国画、茶道等等。”

Different cultural backgrounds did not set them apart but brought them closer. Leeann says, "It's a mutual learning process for both of us." Because of Chad's interest in Chinese culture, Leeann has also deepened her understanding of traditional Chinese culture, "He has taught me a lot of things, such as Penjing, Chinese traditional painting, the tea ceremony and so on."

Leeann的父母和Chad虽然语言不通，却也用自己的方式表达着对他的关心。“爸爸妈妈都是很好的人，他们非常照顾我，是他们让我在中国有了家的感觉。”Chad说。

Even though Leeann's parents and Chad don't speak the same language, they care for him in their own way. "Her parents are very nice people. They take care of me and make me feel at home here in China." Chad said.

为了更好地实现盆景创作，2019年夫妻俩搬到了位于崇州的严家弯湾。在这里他们拥有了一个世外桃源般的农家小院，Chad专心创作的同时，夫妻俩也有了更多的时间享受生活，喝茶、看书、散步、晒太阳，活得宛如一对神仙眷侣。

To better make Penjing, the couple moved to Yanjia Bend Bay in Chongzhou in 2019. Here they have a paradisiacal farmhouse, and while Chad concentrates on his creations, the couple has more time to enjoy life. They drink tea and read books in the yard and take walks along the tranquil country road.

“我们很喜欢这里，安静优美，民风淳朴。”Chad和Leeann很满意现在的生活，“有时候我们俩只是静静地坐着喝茶，什么都不干，就已经很美好了。”

"We love it here, it's quiet and beautiful and the people are nice." Chad and Leeann are happy with their life now, "Sometimes we just sit quietly and drink tea and do nothing, and somehow that’s just enough."
