Today is the World Wetlands Day.

As an important "indicator" of wetland ecology, the number of Whooper swans in a certain  area reflects to some extent the ecological status .

The Whooper swan usually inhabits open, shallow waters with lush aquatic plants. They are alert and timid. Except for the breeding period, they often live in flocks, especially in winter, often in family groups, and sometimes in large groups of tens to hundreds of swans.

Every year, more than 100 whooper swans fly to The Ruoergai wetland in Sichuan for the winter, forming a beautiful "Swan Lake" landscape.
