The 29th Zigong Lantern Fair to kick off on Jan. 17  

The 29th Zigong Lantern Fair is expected to kick off on Jan. 17, according to the press conference held on Jan. 10 in Chengdu.

The lantern fair will last from Jan. 17 to Mar. 31. The tickets for adults will be 168 yuan from the first day of the Spring Festival to the Lantern Festival, 118 yuan in the high season, 99 yuan in March, 99 yuan on Chinese New Year's Eve.

As an important part of Sichuan's cultural and touristic events, Zigong Lantern Fair has attracted a great number of tourists and played an important role in the international cultural communication. Zigong has been dedicated to the introduction to Chinese culture and the overseas promotion of Zigong colored lanterns. Over 60 lantern fairs have been held worldwide in 2022.

There's a great breakthrough in the 29thZigong Lantern Fair comparing to the previous ones. It will connects the real life to the virtual world, attempting to construct the first dramatized lantern festival in China. It contains five parts, integrating the latest materials and technologies to meet different tourists' needs. There will be a 25-meter-lantern consisted of the previous "lantern kings" and lanterns of various regions.
