Local time on October 18 and 19, teachers and students from Robert-Jungk-Oberschule middle school and Grundschule Pankow primary school in Berlin, Germany participated in a series of cultural exchange activities,hosted by ChinaCultural Center in Berlinand co-hosted by Sichuan International Communication Center,to experience the China's Sichuan culture.

At the event, Ms. Sun Qinhang, Deputy Director of the China Cultural Center in Berlin, introduced the cultural activities and the main teaching course to the students and teachers, hoping that the German students would learn more about Chinese culture and learn Chinese well to contribute to the promotion of communication and friendship between Chinese and German people.

Aiming to meet different ages, knowledge background and interests of the students and teachers, thecenter organized two knowledgeable and interesting cultural experiences and classroom practices with the theme of the China's charming Sichuan culture.

The students and teachers from the Robert-Jungk-Oberschule school had anonline tour to the hometown of the giant pandas-China's Sichuan province and experienced the natural scenery and humanities of Sichuan through four short films: "Beautiful Sichuan", "The Yellow River in Sichuan", "Sichuan Food: Zhong's Dumplings"and"I Ordered Take-out On The Chengdu-Chongqing High-speed Railway".

The first grade students ofGrundschule Pankowschool learned about the giant pandas culture by watching some panda-related videos, and participated in a unique quiz about giant pandas. Afterwards, they also learned the Chinese characters and paper cutting, and practiced the pronunciation and writing of "China", "Germany" and "panda"and made panda cartoon paper cutting.

At the end of the activity, the students said that they experienced a lot and know more about Chinese culture, especially the panda culture in Sichuan.

As a cultural brand of the ChinaCultural Center in Berlin, the "Chinese Cultural Experience Classes" are specially designed to provide Chinese language, calligraphy, Taiji, martial arts, paper-cutting, cooking and other Chinese cultural experience to local students, and Sichuan International Communication Center will further cooperate with the center to promote Chinese culture especially Sichuan culture to the German.
