“It’s not that easy, even for a panda guard, to meet a wild giant panda”, said Li Xinrui, a panda guard in Pingwu Protection Zone, who has only met a wild giant panda at a distance for about 10 seconds, “I was really excited.”
On August 19, “Giant Pandas’ Secrets”, a public benefit salon was held in Panda salon. Fu Mingxia, the person in charge of scientific monitor in Xingjing station of the Giant Panda National Park; Li Xinrui, the panda guard in Wanglang and Guangba area natural protection zone in Pingwu County of Giant Panda National Park; and James Ayala, the American research fellow in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding attended the salon.
Though there’re rare chances to meet a wild giant panda, Fu Mingxia suggested that people should stick to the “Three Don’t Principle- don’t disturb, approach, or feed it if meet a wild giant panda.”
For James Ayala, becoming a research fellow in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is like a dream come true. He became a “Panda fan” when he first met the giant panda in the zoo in Washington. Though he hadn’t met a wild giant panda, he had been with the domesticated giant pandas for ten years.

Containing rich information of giant pandas, the stories about the giant panda ecology, the panda celebrities and stars, etc., this magazine is a showcase of the relationship between human and nature, and human and animals.
