今年20岁的男孩龚魁，

先后经历父亲患病、母亲离去、爷爷奶奶去世，

10岁的龚魁和幺爷爷一起住进敬老院，

两年后幺爷爷也去世，

从此，

他独自居住在敬老院整整10年，

靠爱心资助完成学业。

今年高考龚魁取得571分的成绩，

被川北医学院录取。

他说，

学医是希望自己以后能报效社会。

On July 27, 20-year-old Gong Kui was officially admitted to the North Sichuan Medical College with a score of 571 in gaokao.He decided to study medicine to serve society.Born in Deyang, Sichuan Province, Gong Kui has witnessed his father being ill, mother leaving away, and grandparents passing away.When he was 10, he moved to live with his uncle grandpa in the nursing home.However, his uncle grandpa passed away two years later.Since then, he has been staying in the nursing home by himself for ten years and completed school through patronage.

亲人先后离开，他没放弃

He never gives up

在班主任周光荣眼中，龚魁是班上较为普通的一员，性格内向的龚魁平日比较严肃，不苟言笑，“但是他很诚实，做事很踏实。”周光荣还分享了一个龚魁的小故事：2021年中秋节，所有科任老师办公桌上多了一个小月饼，都不知道谁放的，班主任后来私下了解，原来是龚魁给老师的礼物。

高考结束后的第二天，龚魁就开启了“打工模式”，他打工的地点在中江县一家汽车修理厂，目前已打工1个多月。烈日当头，室外温度达到33℃，汽修厂风扇嗡嗡转动着，却丝毫无法降低室内闷热的高温，龚魁弯腰打扫着卫生，汗珠从他的脸上渗出，不时滴在地上……

The next day after gaokao, Gong Kui started to do a part-time job in a garage in Zhongjiang County. He has been working in the mid-summer's burning heat for over a month up to now.

和其他同龄孩子一样，龚魁也会萌发出去看看外面世界的想法，但这个想法很快被现实所打消。“条件还不允许。”龚魁坦言，他最远就去过成都，唯一一次去成都是参加当地组织的一次公益活动。

Like his peers, Gong Kui also wants to take a look at the outside world. However, the reality failed him. "No condition yet," confessed Gong Kui. He has only travelled once to Chengdu to attend a public benefit activity held by an organization in Chengdu.

当川北医学院的录取通知书送到他手中的时候，龚魁开心地笑了，了解他故事的人都翘首称赞：这个男孩未来的人生必将绽放出别样光彩……

He laughed happily when received his admission letter from the North Sichuan Medical College. People who know his story praised: he will have a promising life.

当被问及为何选择临床医学专业时，龚魁坦言：“医生是神圣的职业，我是在社会与爱心人士的关爱下长大的，选择学医是为了以后报效社会，延续爱心。”

When asked why choose clinical medicine science as his major, Gong Kui answered, "doctor is a holy profession. I was raised by the kindness of people and society. I want to study medicine to serve society and repay their kindness."

回首过去，龚魁感慨万千：“小时候我从未想过能读大学，曾经想过跟乡村医生学医，没想到这一生还能进医学院校深造。”

Thinking about the past, Gong Kui had so many feelings. "It has never occurred to me that I can go to a college. I have thought about studying from the rural doctors, but have never imagined studying in a medical college."

敬老院仍为他留一间房

在敬老院二楼，有一间10多平米的房间是龚魁的房间。一盏电灯、一个电扇、一个衣柜、一个床头柜，一张床，除了生活用品，更多的是书籍。

Gong Kui has a 10-square-meter-room on the second floor of the nursing home. Apart from a lamp, a fan, a closet, a bedside table, and a bed, there're all books.

太安镇敬老院副院长蒋奇介绍，一般放长假，龚魁都会回敬老院，除了写作业，也会帮助老人整理床铺、洗衣服，扫地或者到厨房帮厨，打扫卫生。蒋奇说，“尽管已考上大学，敬老院还是给他留了一间房，这里就是他的家，他随时都可以回来!”

According to Jiang Qi, the vice president of the nursing home of Tai'an Town, Gong Kui will come back on holidays to help the elderlies clean up their bed, do the laundry, clean the floor, or help in the kitchen. Mr. Jiang said, "there's always a room for him despite the fact that he has been admitted to college. This is his home and he is welcome to be back at any time."

龚魁收拾行李准备离开敬老院时，一名老人前来问道：“考上大学了哇?考上哪个大学?研究科学还是研究数学?”老人像个孩子似的，一连串地追问这个“自家娃”。

When Gong Kui was packing up, an elderly came forward and asked, "admitted to a college? Which one? Science or math?", as if asking his own grandson.
