Do you know where the first word “Chengdu" appeared? What is the earliest known“Made-in-Chengdu”object and what is the connection between Chengdu and the weapons?

成都，一座拥有4500年文明史的古城，2300多年间城址未迁、城名未改的传奇，在一众古城中显得另类。关于成都这个名字，目前主要有“成为都城”和“蜀人居住的地方”两种说法，两种说法各有支持者。

Chengdu is an ancient city whose history stretches back over 4,500 years of Chinese civilization. It is said that the city has not moved or changed its name for more than 2,300 years, making it stand out even from the many other famous ancient Chinese cities. There are two main explanations for the origin of the name Chengdu: “Becoming capital” and “Shulan”, each of which has its own backers.

在成都金沙遗址博物馆“吉金万里——中国西南地区青铜文明展”中展出的三件刻有“成都”铭文的青铜兵器，让我们见识了最早的“成都”，它们从时间上将成都城市命名的历史往前推了200余年，成为目前所知最早的“成都制造”。

Exhibited in “Bronze Sacrificial Utensils in Southwest China — Southwest China Bronze Civilization Exhibition”of Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum, three bronzeweaponswith the inscriptions “Chengdu” engraved on them give us a glimpse of the earliest known use of the name “Chengdu”. These three bronzes also predated the previously believed earliest date the name Chengdu was used by over 200 years, and became the earliest “made-in-Chengdu” bronzesknown currently.
