When it comes to Chinese food, you may have watched Li Ziqi’s videoson YouTube, but when talking aboutactual chefs, Wang Gang is undoubtedly among the best-known.

他是YouTube上最有影响力的川菜厨师之一，目前已经有204万粉丝。不同于李子柒以中国传统乡村生活为主题拍摄视频，王刚更加注重中国传统家常菜的做法教学。

As one of the most influential chefs of Sichuan cuisine on YouTube, Wang Gang currently has 2.04 million followers.Unlike Li Ziqi’s videos, which are themed around old-fashioned Chinese rural life, Wang Gang’s videos are mostly cooking tutorials for home-cooking traditional Chinese dishes.

2017年，王刚上传了他的第一条视频。当时他已经在中国广东省从事了10多年的餐饮业工作，积累了各种菜系的厨艺经验，并担任了厨师长职位。一个偶然，他和同事在手机上看到有同行教网友做菜的视频，他觉得作为专业厨师，如果是自己来教大家做菜，会做得更好。2018年，王刚将视频发到了YouTube上，开始教全球网友做川菜。

In 2017, Wang Gang, who had garnered more than 10 years of experience in the catering industry in China’s Guangdong Province,uploaded his first video.He could boast of having cooked a variety of cuisines professionally, and had worked as a restaurant’s head chef. One day, he and his colleagues watched a video on the phone of a chef teaching viewers to cook, which made him think that as a professional chef, he could do that even better than this content creator. In 2018, Wang Gang posted his first cooking tutorials on YouTube and started teaching global viewers how to cook Sichuan cuisine for the first time.

凭借着详细、可操作性强的指导和精湛的厨艺，王刚看起来“野生粗暴”的视频得到了国外网友的认可，“宽油”“锅气”等富有中国特色的词语也被大家知晓，成为互联网美食领域的热梗。他的《泡椒牛蛙正宗做法》在YouTube上斩获1329万播放量，许多海外美食博主也以王刚的菜谱为脚本进行翻拍。

Featuring detailed and highly operational instructions, and showcasing his outstanding culinary skills, Wang Gang’s ‘rough and wild’videos have been warmly welcomed by foreign viewers. Meanwhile, terms with Chinese characteristics such as ‘a whole lot of oil’and ‘wok hei’have also become known to viewers and evolved into popular food-related memes online. Additionally, Wang Gang’s Orthodox Cooking Tutorial of Sauteed Bullfrog with Pickled Peppersachieved a spectacular 13.29 million views, attracting numerous foreign food bloggers to film similar tutorials using his recipes as a guideline.
