Out of the fanged mouth of snakes spread the mottled blades… Beautiful blades and intense flames make for a weapon that strikes with a thundering blow!

In the God of War series, Kratos holds the Blades of Chaos infused with the power of fire to fight against fate.

On Bilibili, the Dachui LBX strikes a burning 20kg steel ingot… we see the red-hot energy within. Seeing this wicked energy, fans say it’s almost better in real life than in the game!

Can we really make these mythical weapons come to life here? Can the amazing feelings we feel when wielding these weapons in the game come true? Dachui spent three years answering this.

    Continuous Weapon Innovation

Dachui started gaming as a teen – a second life we all experienced, somewhere else to be. These weapons weren’t just a way out of so-called “reality”, but a way in – to another world, as well as a merging of his artistic accompaniments as a student of craft, and a realization of his natural desires. After seeing crafters from inside and outside China making true props, Dachui decided to give it his own try, as a tribute. Little did he expect to become addicted to the reproduction of game props.

From “Blade of the Wind”, released in August 2020, to the full-level Leviathan Axe that took a year to complete, to the hand-forged 560-layer Carian Knight’s Sword of Damascus Steel, Dachui has been upping his game for three years. “It actually started with wood, then cutting softer aluminum and brass, through cutting and carving, until last year I began to forge reproductions using steel.”

Carving is a test of artistic skill, while forging is a symphony of strength and beauty. The transformation from carving to forging witnessed Dachui’s constant pursuit of a refined, finished effect. “Swords made of wood or aluminum, after all, are fake. I seek to reproduce weapons in an authentic manner.”

Dachui, 33 years old, has tried his hand at a variety of occupations such as an agent, driver, and salesman… while now he has made full-time game weapon reproduction his lifelong career. He believes that the spirit of exploration in turning virtual objects into reality is similar to that in the game world.

    “Charge into the Unknown”

Dachui exercises skills to reproduce creative ideas, not only making game objects real, but also drawing unexpected attention. Dachui’s video of his repro of “Varok Saurfang’s Axe” was re-posted by the official account of the World of Warcraft production company, and “Blade of the Wind” was also commented by the League of Legends’s dev as “infusing the spirit”. In addition, Dachui’s craft has also received the attention of UBISOFT, one of the world’s top ten game companies; they’re working on an agreement to work together.

“Real life can be dull and tedious, but I also have a world of games. I try to reproduce things from the virtual world, so that viewers may think there are still some interesting people and things in real life.” The studio, where Dachui spends ten hours a day, is a link between the virtual and the real. He finds himself in a dialog with the virtual world, and shapes his dreams in the context of how they can come into real life. In this universe, he explores traditional skills, integrates modern techniques, leverages his skills to show the myriad possibilities games present, and gives realistic responses to the yearning in his heart.
