On June 19, a conference on economic, trade and tourism enterprises in Sichuan Province and Baku City was held in Chengdu, attracting 26 business representatives, as part of the 2023 series of events of the "the Belt and Road" Sichuan International Friendship City Cooperation and Development Forum.

6月19日，四川省一巴库市经贸旅游企业座谈会在成都举行，吸引了26家企业代表到会，此次座谈会是“一带一路”四川国际友城合作与发展论坛2023系列活动之一。

On June 18, Sichuan Province and Baku City signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of friendship between the two places, which is a milestone. 6月18日，四川省已经和巴库市签署建立友好省市关系备忘录，具有里程碑意义。四川省与阿塞拜疆的友城建设成果丰硕，2019年9月，四川省绵阳市与苏姆盖特市建立了友好合作关系。此次巴库市长埃尔达尔·阿齐佐夫率团访川，开启了两省市友好合作新篇章。

At this conference, a total of 7 enterprise representatives from various fields made presentations, and through their presentations, Azizov and his delegation learned about the latest resource advantages and cooperation opportunities in Sichuan at present.

此次会议，来自多个领域的共计7家企业代表进行了发言，通过他们的介绍，阿齐佐夫一行了解了目前四川最新的资源优势与合作机会。

"China is animportant partner for Azerbaijan and the two countries support and understand each other. China has given Azerbaijan very strong assistance during the epidemic." Azizov spoke at the conference. He was impressed by Sichuan, especially by its urban economic dynamism. "Tourism can provide a good platform for bilateral cooperation and communication between the two places. The development of tourism can leave a lot of good impressions and facilitate the further development of other cooperation."

“中国对于阿塞拜疆来说是非常重要的合作伙伴，两国互相支持、相互理解。中国在疫情期间给予阿塞拜疆了非常强有力的援助。”阿齐佐夫在会上发言。他指出，四川给他留下了深刻印象，尤其是四川的城市经济活力。“旅游能够为两地的合作交往提供非常好的一个平台。旅游的发展能够给人们留下很多好的印象，有利于进一步发展其他的合作。”

Talking about future areas of cooperation, Azizov noted that there are many more areas of cooperation, such as new energy, health care and construction, and in the future the two places will set up more and more effective mechanisms to promote pragmatic and effective bilateral cooperation. "There are many high-tech enterprises in Sichuan, which I believe can provide a good basis for the development of Azerbaijan." Azizov is very optimistic about the potential for cooperation and development prospects between Baku and Sichuan.

在谈及未来的合作领域时，阿齐佐夫指出，双方合作的领域还有很多，比如新能源、医疗卫生、建筑等领域，未来双方会搭建更多更有效的机制，推动两地务实有效的合作。“四川还有很多高新技术企业，相信能够为阿塞拜疆的发展提供很好的基础。”阿齐佐夫十分看好巴库与四川的之间的合作潜力与发展前景。

It is learned that The 2019 Belt and Road Forum for Cooperation and Development of Sichuan International Friendship Cities is a brand activity of Sichuan International Friendship City. Within this brand activity, a series of 2023 activities will be held this year to help Sichuan build a new high ground for opening up to the outside world and continuously improve the level of opening up through the work of international friendship cities.
