4月22日，第十八届“中国青年女科学家奖”颁奖典礼在京举行。四川大学张蕾教授等20人及5个团队获奖。

On April 22, the 18th "Chinese Female Scientists Award" ceremony was held in Beijing. Professor Zhang Lei from Sichuan University and 5 other teams won the award.

张蕾教授为四川大学智能交叉技术研究中心常务副主任、计算机学院(软件学院、智能科学与技术学院)人工智能系主任，国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金、优秀青年基金获得者，也是教育部新世纪优秀人才、四川省青年科技创新研究团队带头人、四川省学术和技术带头人。她多年来奋斗在科研一线，致力于人工智能的研究与应用。

Prof. Zhang is the executive deputy director of the Research Center for Intelligent Cross Technology and the head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence in the School of Computer Science at Sichuan University. She is a winner of Education Ministry's New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan, a leader of the Sichuan Provincial Youth Science and Technology Innovation Research Team, and an academic and technical leader of Sichuan Province.Shehas devoted herself to the research and application of artificial intelligence for years.

30岁的博导是怎样炼成的

1998年，张蕾考入电子科技大学应用数学学院，在本校完成硕士和博士学业后，赴香港中文大学计算机科学与工程学系从事博士后研究工作，并于2009年8月入职四川大学计算机学院。

In 1998, Zhang entered the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of Chengdu. And after completing her master's and doctoral degrees at the University, she went to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for postdoctoral research; in August 2009, she joined the School of Computer Science at Sichuan University.

作为奋战在研究一线的科研人员，张蕾工作投入了无限的热情，取得了卓越的学术成绩。

As a researcher, Zhang has devoted her work with unlimited enthusiasm and obtained outstanding academic achievements.

她长期围绕人工神经网络模型的记忆机制开展研究，并应用于医学数据的智能分析，获授权国家发明专利10余项。她还曾获得国家自然科学二等奖、教育部自然科学一等奖。

She has conducted long-term research on the memory mechanism of artificial neural network models and applied it to the intelligent analysis of medical data, and has been granted more than 10 national invention patents.She has won the second prize of National Natural Science and the first prize of Natural Science of Ministry of Education.

在29岁时，张蕾被评为教授。隔年，年仅30岁的她被评为博导。对于许多学者来说，这是科研之路刚刚开始的年纪，而此时的张蕾已在学术道路上一骑绝尘。

She was named professor at the age of 29 and doctoral supervisor at the age of 30.

人工智能，从低谷到热门

人工智能的发展并不是一帆风顺的。张蕾选择博士研究方向时，人工智能正处于低潮期，但她毅然决然地加入了导师章毅教授的神经网络研究团队。

The development process of artificial intelligence has not been smooth. When she chose her PhD research direction, artificial intelligence was at a low ebb, but Zhang resolutely joined the neural network research team.

如今，随着神经网络引爆了本次人工智能革命，智能博弈、语音识别、人脸识别、医疗影像分析等大数据领域已成为智能时代的主旋律。

Nowadays, with neural networks triggering this AI revolution, big data fields such as intelligent gaming, voice recognition, face recognition, and medical image analysis have become the main theme of the intelligent era.

“只有不断进行理论探索和理论创新，才能把握最新动态，跟上时代发展潮流。”在张蕾看来，计算机行业瞬息万变，因此需要不断地学习，进行理论研究与实践。目前，她在IEEE TNNLS、IEEE TAC、IEEE TSMC-B、IEEE TCYB、CVPR等国际一流学术期刊和会议上发表论文60余篇。

"Only through continuous theoretical exploration and theoretical innovation can we grasp the latest developments and keep up with the trend of the times." In Zhang's view, the computer industry is changing rapidly, so she needs to keep learning and conducting theoretical research and practice. At present, she has published more than sixty papers in international top academic journals and conferences such as IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TAC, IEEE TSMC-B, IEEE TCYB, CVPR, etc.

既是科学家，也是传道授业的老师

谈到性格，张蕾形容自己：急脾气、做事雷厉风行。

When it comes to personality, Zhang describes herself as: quick-tempered and resolute.

作为老师，她对于学生严格要求。毕业季，她需要指导大量的本、硕、博毕业论文，即使生病，她也坚持着吃完药继续工作。“轻伤不下火线，扛着呗！”她笑道。

As a teacher, she is strict with her students. In the graduation season, she needs to guide a large number of undergraduate, master's and doctoral theses. When she was sick, she continued to work after taking medicine. "Just carry on!" She said.

如今，面对计算机学科十分活跃的生态环境，张蕾也对学生提出了殷切期望：希望学生们能够保持充分的热情和冲劲，同时克服浮躁，深入挖掘现象背后的问题。

Nowadays, facing the active ecological environment of the computer science discipline, Lei Zhang also put forward expectations for students, they can maintain full enthusiasm and impetus, while overcoming impatience and digging deeper into the problems behind the phenomena.

同样秉持着这样的信念，张蕾从未停下前进的脚步，源源不断地在人工智能这片热土释放自己的光和热。

With the same belief, Zhang has never stopped moving forward, constantly releasing her light and heat in this hotbed of artificial intelligence.
