北京时间2月21日17时12分，搭载旅日大熊猫“香香”的顺丰O37564航班抵达成都双流国际机场，年逾5岁的“香香”出生后首次回到她的“老家”——中国四川。

At 17:12, Feb. 21, Beijing Time, the five-year-old Japan-born-giant-panda Xiang Xiang arrived at Chengdu, Sichuan Province, which is her hometown.

雌性大熊猫“香香”于2017年6月在上野动物园出生，其父母分别为中国旅日大熊猫“比力(力力)”与“仙女(真真)”。

The female giant panda was born in June 2017. Xiang Xiang's parents, Ri Ri (male) and Shin Shin (female), arrived at Ueno Zoo in 2011.

从出生那天起，“香香”便成了上野动物园的明星。

为了给熊猫宝宝取名字，上野动物园向全国发起征集，半月内收到了32万份投稿，创下历史记录，最终大熊猫宝宝被命名为“香香”。2017年12月，“香香”对公众开放首日，动物园便收到了近10万份游客预约，甚至有游客早上四点赶来排队……

在上野动物园及其周边，以大熊猫为主题的面包店、咖啡店、餐厅、纪念品店随处可见,足以见得日本民众对“香香”的喜爱。

Xiang Xiang has became the "star" in Ueno Zoological Gardens since she was born. The zoo collected names from the society and received 320,000 submissions, breaking the record. Nearly 100,000 visitors appointed the zoo on the first day of Xiang Xiang's public display.

由于“香香”父母是从中国出借的大熊猫，它们产下的幼崽所有权属于中国。因为“香香”圈粉无数，日本多次申请延期，按计划“香香”原定于2020年12月底归还中国，但受新冠疫情影响，其回国日期被多次推迟。

根据相关协定，“香香”最终确定于21日启程回国。

Xiang Xiang is sending home to China on Tuesday. As she belongs to the Chinese side, the panda was originally scheduled to return to China when she turns two. However, her return was postponed due to her popularity in Japan and the COVID-19 pandemic.

当地时间2月21日7时许，“香香”正式从日本东京上野动物园启程，并在东京成田机场搭乘当地时间12时45分的航班返回中国。

Xiang Xiang departed from Ueno Zoological Gardens at about 7:00 am and got on the flight at 12:45 on Feb. 21, Tokyo time.

2月19日，是“香香”在上野动物园最后一天与游客见面的日子，许多日本民众来到动物园与“香香”道别，为它送上美好祝福。

People flocked to Tokyo's Ueno Zoological Gardens to see Xiang Xiang on Sunday, the final day for public viewing for the beloved panda before her return to China.

只有部分游客通过事先抽签得到了19日与“香香”道别的机会。在大熊猫馆内，人们抓紧时间拍照，不时挥手，依依不舍地和“香香”道别，甚至动情落泪。

据园方介绍，由于“香香”进入检疫期，过去一个月中，每天参观游客人数上限为2600人。19日的参观因为申请人数过多，中签概率只有七十分之一左右。尽管如此，许多没有中签的日本民众，当天还是来到了动物园。他们说，即便见不到“香香”，也希望能够表达出自己对“香香”的喜爱与祝福。

The celebrity panda's eventual departure drew fans to wait for hours at the zoo to say goodbye. A lottery for tickets to see Xiang Xiang on Sunday was held in advance since many visitors were expected, with the overall odds surpassing 20 times and the odds for the final group of viewers reaching 70 times.

上野观光联盟名誉会长二木中男接受采访时表示，他把大家关于“香香”的留言全都看了一遍，“深深感受到了大家对香香的感情。”

此前，日媒在报道中，曾将“香香”称为“呆萌可爱迷倒游客的“招牌女孩”。与“香香”有关的许多画面也为大家留下了深刻的印象。

许多游客都表示，他们是看着“香香”一点点长大的，很感谢它这些年的陪伴，非常舍不得它离开。

连日来，上野动物园还面向游客和动物园工作人员开展了对“香香”的祝福征集活动。许多人在对“香香”依依不舍的同时，也都表示希望“香香”能够在新的生活环境中健康成长。

Xiang Xiang's Japanese fans have been melancholy about her departure, and they have sent their best wishes to Xiang Xiang for her new life in China.

据悉，“香香”将被送往中国大熊猫保护研究中心的雅安碧峰峡基地，接受为期1个月的隔离检疫，隔离期结束后将与公众见面。

It's reported that Xiang Xiang is expected to be sent to Ya'an's Bifengxia Base of China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda to receive one-month-quarantine.
