    The Baihetan hydropower station, the world largest in-building hydroelectric dam in terms of volume and the second most powerful hydropower station in terms of installed capacity, went fully operational on Dec. 20, 2022 after the last of its 16 hydro-generating units completed a 72-hour trial operation.

    至此,白鹤滩水电站16台百万千瓦水轮发电机组全部投产发电,标志着世界最大清洁能源走廊在长江之上全面建成

    Its operation marks the completion of the world's largest clean energy corridor on the Yangtze river.

    白鹤滩水电站是实施“西电东送”的国家重大工程。工程开发任务为以发电为主,兼顾防洪、航运,并促进地方经济社会发展。其全球单机容量最大功率百万千瓦水轮发电机组,实现了我国高端装备制造的重大突破。

    Baihetan is a part of the country's "East Powered by the West" project – an effort to transmit electricity from the resource-rich west to energy-hungry regions in east China.It signifies a major breakthrough in China's high-end equipment manufacturing, as it is equipped with 16 home-grown hydro-generating units, each with a capacity of 1 million kilowatts, the largest single-unit capacity in the world.

    白鹤滩电站位于四川省凉山州宁南县和云南省昭通市巧家县境内,是三峡集团在金沙江下游投资建设的四座梯级电站中的第二个梯级。

    Straddling Ningnan County, Liangshan Prefecture in Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province, Baihetan station is the second step of the four hydropower station steps built by China Three Gorges Corporationon the downstream of Jinsha River.

    电站主体工程于2017年7月全面开工建设,2021年6月28日首批机组投产发电。截至12月20日,白鹤滩水电站累计发电量超过530亿千瓦时,主要输送江苏、浙江等区域,助力长三角地区一体化高质量发展。

    The construction of the station started in July, 2017. Its first batch of units went into operation on June 28, 2021. By now, the station has produced more than 53 billion kW of clean electricity, which was mainly delivered to East China's Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, helping the integrated high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta region.

    白鹤滩水电站工程规模巨大,地质条件复杂,综合技术难度位居世界第一。中国三峡集团携手国内水电建设和装备制造企业,攻克了一系列世界级技术难题,创造了百万千瓦水轮发电机组单机容量、300米级高拱坝抗震设防指标、地下洞室群规模等六项世界第一。

    The construction of Baihetan station is the most difficult project in the world. China Three Gorges Corporation, together with other Chinese enterprises, has overcome a group of world-class technological problems and achieved a great number of breakthrough.

    三峡集团在长江干流建设运营的6座巨型梯级水电站(乌东德、白鹤滩、溪洛渡、向家坝、三峡、葛洲坝)共安装110台水电机组,总装机容量达7169.5万千瓦,形成世界最大清洁能源走廊。

    Three Gorges Corphas built and operated six giant hydropower stations including Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges and Gezhouba on the main stream of the Yangtze River, and110 hydropower units, witha total installed capacity of 7,169.5 kW, forming the world's largest clean energy corridor.

    这条走廊跨越1800公里,形成总库容919亿立方米的梯级水库群和战略性淡水资源库,其中防洪库容376亿立方米,占2022年长江流域纳入联合调度范围水库总防洪库容的53%以上,对保障长江流域防洪、发电、航运、水资源利用和生态安全具有十分重要的意义。

    Spanning 1,800 kilometers, the corridor formed reservoirs and strategic freshwater resource pools with a total storage capacity of 91.9 billion cubic meters, of which the flood control storage capacity is 37.6 billion cubic meters, accountingfor over53 percent of the total flood control storage capacity of reservoirs in the Yangtze River Basin in 2022. It is of great significance to the flood control, power generation, shipping, water resource utilization and ecological security in the Yangtze River area.

    随着世界最大清洁能源走廊全面建成,6座巨型电站联合调度、协同运行,年均发电量达3000亿千瓦时,可有效缓解华中、华东地区及川、滇、粤等省份的用电紧张局面,为“西电东送”和电网安全稳定运行发挥重要支撑作用。每年可节约标煤约9045万吨,减少排放二氧化碳约24840万吨,对改善我国能源结构,助推实现碳达峰、碳中和目标发挥积极作用。

    When in full operation, this clean energy corridor formed by six hydropower stationsis expected to generate 300 billion gigawatt-hours of electricity, save approximately 90.45 million metric tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 248.4 million metric tons, assisting the energy structure optimization, the achievement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality in our country.
