On November 17, the 2022 Tianfu Book Fair press conference was held in Chengdu. The reporter from the Sichuan International Communication Center learned from the press conference that the 2022 Tianfu Book Fair will be held from November 25th to 28th. It will be held in the way of "synchronization of the main and branch venues, integration of online and offline exhibition, national reading campaign, and combination of exhibition and sales". More international elements will be added to the Book Fair. Some foreigners in Chengdu will be invited to participate in the exhibition and online live broadcasts of the Book Fair will be conducted for overseas readers so that they can learn about China through books.

The cultural activities of the 2022 Tianfu Book Fair are richer and more wonderful than the previous ones, according to the press conference. In addition to more than 400 offline cultural activities, the book fair also added for the first time many important events with national influence such as the New Era Rural Reading Season - Lighting Up Reading Wishes. Moreover, Bashu (Sichuan) local characteristic cultural activities such as Mianzhu New Year Paintings, Luzhou oil-paper umbrella exhibition and experience activities will also be presented for the first time at the conference.

This book fair covers a wider area. In terms of offline exhibition halls, the number of collaborative exhibition halls outside the province has increased significantly, from more than 300 to more than 500. The branch venues in Sichuan Province include Wenxuan Bookstores, Xinhua Bookstores in Aba, Ganzi, and Liangshan and the public libraries of the whole province, and an important branch venue, Sansu shrine has also been added. In terms of online exhibitions, the main exhibition venue of "Tianfu Book Fair · Cloud World" has been settled on China’s mainstream online platforms. For the first time, the online exhibition venue has been added, and the online exhibition venue of Wenxuan Cloud Store has been built, moving the offline physical bookstores to online and better serving readers.

The way of organizing exhibitions is more intelligent. Firstly, the Tianfu Book Fair cloud exhibition hall uses panoramic virtual technology to display the whole offline main exhibition hall. It realizes the two-way combination of online interaction and real-scene presentation and provides readers who cannot attend the exhibition on-site with an immersive experience of visiting the exhibition. Secondly, the conference will set up a smart reading area in the main exhibition hall of the book fair and focus on displaying multi-form cutting-edge reading products about content production, book purchase, reading scenes, and reading methods. In addition, a Tianfu Book Fair live broadcast platform will also be built. The live broadcast area will be set up in the offline main exhibition area, and the live broadcast exhibitions and sale of books will be carried out to further increase the scientific and technological connotation of the Tianfu Book Fair.

It is reported that since 2019, the Tianfu Book Fair has been held for three consecutive sessions. Through the "empowerment" of exhibitions and sales, the "gathering of wisdom" from exchanges, and the "gathering of potentials" from activities, it has become a grand event for industry exchanges, a platform for industrial development, and a carnival for reading.
