当地时间2022年10月19日清晨，两只中国大熊猫“四海”和“京京”乘专机抵达位于卡塔尔首都多哈的哈马德国际机场。作为中东地区迎来的首对大熊猫，它们将在接下来的15年旅居卡塔尔。

Two giant pandas arrived at Hamad International Airport in Doha, capital of Qatar on Wednesday morning, on a special flight from China. They are expected to remain in Qatar for 15 years.

很多卡塔尔当地网友非常期待两只“滚滚”的到来，其他各国“猫粉”也纷纷送上祝福。

Panda "fans" in Qatar and other countries have sent their best wishes to Sihai and Jingjing.

“这体现了两国之间友好的文化交流，卡塔尔招待得很好，为苏海尔(京京)和索拉雅(四海)提供了健康专业的环境!”

“我太喜欢大熊猫了!”

“希望两只熊猫可以在新的地方生活得很开心!之后要是能有个宝宝就更幸福了，当地人应该也很想见到它们吧!”

“京京和四海，要保重哟!”

18日下午，载着大熊猫“四海”“京京”的车队缓缓驶出位于四川的中国大熊猫保护研究中心雅安基地。此次中卡开展大熊猫保护研究合作是我国与中东地区开展的首例大熊猫合作。

At 3:30 pm on Tuesday, three-year-old female panda Si Hai and four-year-old male panda Jing Jing left the base for Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and will take a special plane to Qatar. It is the first time giant pandas will travel to the Middle East, the center said.

为保证两只大熊猫顺利开启新生活，中卡双方均做了充分准备。一个多月前，中国大熊猫保护研究中心对这两只大熊猫实行了隔离检疫和体检，目前两只大熊猫健康状况良好。

More than a month ago, the Chinese side carried out quarantine and physical examination of the two giant pandas and saw they were in good health.

为陪伴和帮助大熊猫适应新环境，中国大熊猫保护研究中心派出了经验丰富的饲养师和兽医专家随机前往，并协助卡方组建了专业的大熊猫饲养管理团队。

China had also sent expert groups to Qatar for on-site guidance and assessment of the venues, assisting Qatar in establishing a giant panda breeding management team.

卡塔尔政府为迎接大熊猫“四海”“京京”，精心建造了大熊猫馆。场馆功能齐全，配有育幼室、治疗室、食物调制间、竹子保鲜室、安全监控室等。两只大熊猫将分别拥有带空调的运动场、室内展厅、独立的“卧室”。

The Qatari government has built a giant panda hall. The two giant pandas will enjoy an air-conditioned sports ground, an indoor exhibition hall and an independent "bedroom". In addition, nursery rooms, treatment rooms, food preparation rooms, bamboo preservation rooms and safety monitoring rooms have also been prepared.

出于对中国大熊猫的喜爱，卡塔尔将“京京”和“四海”以阿拉伯文分别命名为“苏海尔”和“索拉雅”。在阿拉伯传统文化中，“苏海尔”和“索拉雅”是天空中的两颗星，代表着吉祥、崇高和价值无限。

The pandas have also been given two Arab names, Suhail for Jing Jing and Soraya for Si Hai, by Qatar. It is worth mentioning that Suhail is the name of one of the brightest stars visible in the Gulf region, while Soraya is the Arabic name for the Pleiades star cluster, symbolizing good luck, lofty and immeasurable value.
