Erlangshan National Forest Park: The Natural Barrier on The Sichuan-Tibet Highway

Erlangshan Mountain, famous for the steepness and awful climate, is the first natural barrier on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.
Located on the east foot of Erlangshan Mountain, the south side of Qionglai Mountains, Erlangshan National Forest Park covers 57517 hectares, has an elevation of 1050-5150 meters with the northwest higher and the southeast lower. The park is of alpine and gorge landform, featured with steep mountains, turbulent rivers and deep valley. Erlangshan Mountain, the watershed of Qingyi River and Dadu River and the natural dividing line, is the most famous among the various mountains in the park.
There are four scenic areas in the Erlangshan National Forest Park: Erlangshan Mountain, Laba River, Hongling Mountain, and Baisha River. Located in a valley, Laba River Scenic Area is secluded and tranquil. You can find various precious animals and plants here.
