Being regarded as the gene pool of wild plants and paradise of animals, Longchi National Forest Park was once so attractive. It was destroyed by the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008. However, through the past decade of natural power and people's efforts, it has become a sample of after-calamity restoration.
Located in Dujiangyan city, Longchi National Forest Park is 84 kilometers away from Chengdu, and 30 kilometers from Dujiangyan. Its geographical structure was formed in the Triassic period and there are lots of animal and plant fossils. In the park, you can find davidia involucrate, cercidiphyllum japonicum, tapiscia sinensis olive, magnolia sinensis and other endangered trees, as well as snub-nosed monkeys, giant pandas, antelopes, golden pheasants and other valuable wild animals.
