Wawushan National Forest park mainly consists of Yuping artificial forest resort, Bamianshan ancient search area and the core scenic spot, the Wawushan primeval forest adventure scenic spot. Known as the cradle and differentiation center of world angiosperms, the park is dominated by primitive forest landscape, with more than 3,600 kinds of plants, and 60% of the world's angiosperms. The first-class national protected plants include dove, water green, hemlock, red bean fir, etc. There are also more than 460 species of wildlife in the park, including giant pandas, red pandas, black storks, green-tailed pheasants and other rare and protected animals.

After the launch of the pilot work of Giant Panda National Park System in 2017, more areas around the Wawushan reserve have become part of the national park, with human habitation allowed in the general control area, as well as limited production and business, nature education and other activities, and production and business activities prohibited in the core area. The "Sichuan Boundary Monument No.1 of the Giant Panda National Park" also settled here.
