Orchidaceae is the biggest angiospermous family, owning about 700 categories and 20000~35000 types in the world. China is one of the countries with the greatest plant diversity. According to a study in 2019, Sichuan owns over 100 categories of wild orchids, accounting for more than a half of the total in China. Sichuan is the province with the second greatest orchid resources, following Yunnan Province.

Galearis wardii is a kind of wild orchid. They are of 12~25 centimeters high and grow in the forests or grassland at the altitude of 2400~4510 meters in western Sichuan Province, northwestern Yunnan Province and eastern Tibet. The purple labella stretch out on all sides, looking forceful and passionate. The dark purple spots on the petals and labella make them gorgeous.
