Apis Cerana are small and black. Their bodies are covered by fine faint yellow fluff.

Just like other kinds of bees, apis cerana have clear division of labors among them: the queens are responsible for breeding, the drones are responsible for copulation, and the workers have to collect pollen, feed the offsprings and guard their honeycombs.

It is worth mentioning that apis cerana are the most diligent bees. Comparing to the apis mellifera ligustica, another familiar hard-working type of bees, they go out early and come back at dusk and spend two to three hours more in collecting pollen.
