"Liang Zhu (The Butterfly Lovers)" is a Chinese legend of a tragic love story of a pair of lovers. Have you ever wondered what species of butterfly Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai were transformed into? Some entomologists speculate that the legendary butterfly that they turned into might be the great mormon.

The great mormon is a southern butterfly species. Female butterflies and male butterflies follow up each other like a shadow, so in Guangdong, Yunnan and other places, the folk call it the "Liang Zhu Butterfly". They are often found south of the Yangtze River, more commonly in Guangdong and Yunnan, and also foundin Sichuan, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
