Calanthe tricarinata prefers moist, cool climate and perennially grows in loose, fertile, well-drained leaf mold or peat moss. The florescence of Calanthe tricarinata is from May to June every year. The small and beautiful flowers are dotted on the long and thin flower stems during flowering. If you look closely, each flower has a brick-red “tongue” and three edges, which looks similar to the ridge of a shrimp.
