With straight trunks and stacked branches, Faber's fir is distributed among the high mountain areas.
Faber’s fir has strong shade tolerance, adapt to warm and cold climates, and often grows in shady, semi-shady slopes and valleys in sub-alpine to alpine regions from high latitudes to low latitudes.
According to the popular science field creator "Siye Society", Faber's fir is widely used in the manufacture of furniture and devices due to its easy processing, smooth cutting surface and strong nail-holding power. The resin contained in its bark and branches is used for slices and adhesive for precision instruments. Additionally, it is the most common landscaping species in China, which can be easily found in cities.
The faber’s fir, which first appeared in the late Cretaceous period, is also a "living fossil" among plants. The research of Faber's fir can help to explore botany in ancient times, thus providing hints for observation of current climate change and ecological construction.
