四川全省森林属于亚热带山地型森林，群系超过100个，总面积近2000万公顷(居全国第四位),森林覆盖率高达40.23%，其中约87%为天然林，是全国天然林面积最大的省份之一。据现有数据，全省共计有129科613属、4239种(含变种、亚种等818种)木本植物。

The forests of Sichuan province are subtropical mountainous forests with more than 100 groups and a total area of nearly 20 million hectares (the fourth largest in China), while the forest cover is up to 40.23%, 87% of which is natural forest making it a province with the largest natural forest area in China. Sichuan has a total of 129 families, 613 genera and 4239 species (including 818 species of varieties and subspecies) of woody plants.

除此之外，全省另有超过700万公顷的人工林生态系统。四川盆地内常见的有桤柏人工混交林群落，盆周山地常见的有柳杉林群落，川西高山峡谷和高原常见的有冷杉或云杉林群落，多样的植被种类让生态系统丰富多彩。许多四川特有的珍稀植物也让这里成为了众多野生动物的良好栖息地。

In addition, Sichuan has over 7 million hectares of planted forest ecosystems. Alder and cypress plantations are common in Sichuan basin, while Cryptomeria forest in pelvic mountain area and fir or spruce forest in alpine valley and plateau of western Sichuan. The diversity of vegetation species makes for a rich and colorful ecosystem. Many rare plants also make it a good habitat for wild animals.

绵阳：全国第二大古柏

The Second Oldest Cypress in China

绵阳市北川羌族自治县永安镇大安村一处舒缓的山坡前，一棵柏木直入云霄，主株高37米，平均冠幅 17 米，胸径 3.28 米。据县志记载，这个古柏栽种于隋开皇年间，由蜀王杨秀亲手所植，树龄近1300年，全国第二大古柏。

In front of a soothing hillside in Da'an Village, Yong'an Town, Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Mianyang City, Sichuan province, a cypress tree goes straight up into the clouds. The main plant is 37 meters high, with an average crown width of 17 meters and a diameter of 3.28 meters at breast height. According to records, the Seven Sages Cypress was planted by Yang Xiu, King of Shu during the Kaihuang period of the Sui Dynasty, and is nearly 1,300 years old, making it the second oldest cypress in the country.

广元：全球唯一的剑阁柏

One and OnlyEvergreen Cypress

在四川广元市剑阁翠云廊，一株“松柏长青”树尤为珍贵。作为全球仅此一株的剑阁柏，这株奇树树皮裂纹呈纵向，枝条茂密，树龄已达2300多年。

There is a 2300-year-old Evergreen cypress tree in Cuiyun Corridor, one and only in the world. This tree is cracked lengthwise and is greyish-brown in color, similar to a cypress, but not as rough. The branches are not pendulous, and the scales are small and dense.

康定：世界最大康定木兰

King of Kangding Magnolia

每逢春季三四月份，在一种树上，满树满枝盛开着白色、粉红色、紫红色的花朵，如白鸽飞舞，似雪鸡引项欲鸣。这就是藏在川西秘境里、遗世而绝美的康定木兰。在泸定县燕子沟镇跃进坪村的一处山坡有着一棵“康定木兰王”。树高17.5米，胸径2米，平均冠幅22米，树龄452岁，是世界上最大的康定木兰。

Every spring in March and April, a tree full of white, pink and fuchsia flowers blooms in the secret realm of western Sichuan. This is the beautiful Kangding magnolia dawsoniana. The world's largest Kangding magnolia dawsoniana, growing on a hillside in Yuejinping Village, Yanzigou Township, Luding County, Sichuan Province, is 17.5 meters tall, with a diameter at breast height of 2 meters, an average crown width of 22 meters. It is 452 years old, known as the "King of Kangding Magnolia".

雅安：稀世奇花 宝兴大叶报春花

Rare and Exotic Flower

宝兴大叶报春花，被称作“春天信使”。一窝深绿色“小白菜”上，开出4朵形似小喇叭的淡紫色小花，在山间早春时节，争相开放。这种稀世奇花，最早发现于1869年，此后的100多年，因无人采摘到宝兴大叶报春花，以至于此前许多学者认为此种报春花已经灭绝。如今科考证明，除雅安外，宝兴报春还在泸定、康定、都江堰等地零星分布。

Primula moupinensis is known as the rare and exotic flower. Four small lavender flowers like trumpets on a dark green "cabbage" vigorously blooming early spring in the mountains.it was first discovered in 1869, for more than 100 years since then, no one has picked the Primula moupinensis, so much so that many scholars thought it had become extinct. Today, scientific research has proven that, in addition to Ya'an, itis also found sporadically in Luding, Kangding, Dujiangyan and other places in Sichuan.

雅安：“绿色熊猫”珙桐

珙桐，作为第四纪冰川时期幸存的古老植物，有“植物活化石”“绿色熊猫”之称，是我国特有的珍稀植物，在四川荥经县境内，生长着近20万亩野生珙桐，为中国面积最大的野生珙桐分布区。

The dove tree is an ancient plant that survived the Quaternary glacial period and is known as the "living fossil of plants" and "green panda". It is also a rare plant unique to China and one of the top ten ornamental trees in the world. There are nearly 200,000 mu of wild dove trees grow in Yingjing, Sichuan, the largest area of wild dove trees distribution in China.
