On February 28, a heart-warming scene took place on the platform of SichuanGymnasium of Chengdu Metro Line 3: a female passenger feltunwell and squatted in the corner of the escalator due to hypoglycemia. When her companion was at a loss, an unfamiliar male passenger inblack took the initiative to lend a helping hand as he carried the unwell passenger to the nearby seat. Afterwards, the man silently picked up the girl’s coat that had fallen to the ground and put it on the seat. He ensured that the weak girl was accompanied by staff and friends, and then he left quietly.
A few days later, Chengdu Metro received a letter whichwasan original painting. The author is Sanye (pseudonym), the girl who was helped by an unacquainted person on February 28. In the painting,a man wearing a black coat is running in the subway station with a weak girl in his arms.
"In the following two days, after I got better, I tried to look for him on the Line 3 in the same section, but unfortunately I didn't find him." Sanye said. Therefore, Sanye painted this scene. She hoped that through this painting, she could express her unspoken gratitude tothe kindman who helped her.
In fact, it is not uncommon for passengers on the subway to lend a helping hand when other people suddenly feel unwell. A timely "hug", a wordof concern, or a cup of hot water…these not only allow the passengers to be surrounded by kindness, but also reflect the warmth of the city.
"The small space of the subway reflects the big society. There are a lot of heart-warming actions at the subway stations. Our staff are also deeply moved. I believe that Chengdu will also become more and more ‘beautiful’ because of the civilization of passengers." An employee of Chengdu Metro said.
